Two weeks old!

Now that Bernie is over two weeks old, she's starting to get up to more activities, such as using all her cool baby equipment and socializing with her friends and family.

Observing the world from her nifty swing.

Stretching out with mom.

Napping in a sunbeam.

Communing with fellow turtles.

Visiting with Auntie Barbara.

Getting pudgy.

Maxin' & relaxin' with Auntie Zahra.

Snoozing after lunch.

Oh, hello.

Zonked out while snuggling with Auntie Angela.

Modeling her adorable hat and sleepsack, handmade by Grammy Juju.

Comfy in her bouncy seat, sporting onesie made by Grandma Jean.

First time meeting Uncle Jameson.

Deep thoughts while looking out the window.

First trip outside SF!

In the two weeks since her birth, Bernie has been a hardcore city girl!  For Mother's Day, she ventured outside San Francisco for the first time, all the way to San Carlos!  As you can see from her outfit, Bernie loves her grandmas!  She enjoyed hanging out with her Grandma Jean and can't wait to visit with her Grammy Juju in a couple of weeks!

With Grandma Jean.

With Grandpa Mark.

With Aunt Annie, who made us all a delicious brunch (also pictured).

Swinging! (Not for the easily nauseated!)

Only if you do not suffer easily from motion sickness, check out Bernie in her swing!

Toga! Toga! Toga!

And some non-toga pictures, too!

In her homemade onesie!

First family walk in the park

On our first day home from the hospital, we decided to go for a little walk to enjoy the beautiful May weather.  Bernie enjoyed being in her carrier, snuggled up with dad.

In the little park near our apartment.

My two loves.

All squirmy!

Home from the hospital!

We were so pampered during our stay in the hospital, where sweet nurses, attentive doctors, and frequent room service were just a buzz away.  Even though we missed our cozy apartment, it was a little scary to be on our own with Bernie.  On the way home, I sat in the backseat with her, while John drove far below the speed limit.

Bernie, on the other hand, was not nervous about the transition at all and slept through the whole ride.  She had her two canine bodyguards, gifts from her Lhasa Apso friend, Dozer Baker, to cuddle her.

In the rocking chair with dad (same chair John was rocked in as a baby!).

Swaddled in a cute blanket from Auntie V!

On her pad, at her pad.

Bernie, meet Bernie.

We thought Bernie would be a pretty unique name for a kid these days. Well, the baby boy right across the hall is Bernard! So the Bernies got to meet and hang out for a bit. It was kind of embarrassing for them that they were wearing the same outfit though.
