Mom and dad were too exhausted (lazy?) to throw an actual party for Bernie's birthday, but we were lucky to have Grammy Juju in town for a visit and Grandma Jean ready, willing, and able to throw together some famous Bloomquist birthday cupcakes (angel food cake and chocolate frosting) to make an impromptu celebration for our little 12-month-old.  Viola!
